Portrait of an artist as a young girl.

LOST POST from early January

SF MOMA retrospective of Francesca Woodman [back in January], who as a young photographer, was extremely prolific, and introspective. At first for an artist such as myself is an exhilarating insight into process, exposition of guts, and desperation. Then walking through Room after room dedicated to her image it quickly becomes suffocating.. It is horrifying and perfect – she is immortalized in her youth. She successfully dodged the humiliation of growing older with wrinkles and feelings of decay encroaching. I’m wildly jealous, but carry a sense of superiority with my choice, endurance, and pure luck of survival.
